DL380p Gen8 + HP StorageWorks 82Q 8Gb PCI-e Dual Port FC HBA = ILO Fan speed
Hi! Need help
Server DL 380p G8 with HP StorageWorks 82Q 8Gb PCI-e Dual Port FC HBA in ANY PCI slot = high fan noise
Fan speed via ILO
Fan 1 System OK 11%
Fan 2 System OK 11%
Fan 3 System OK 11%
Fan 4 System OK 34%
Fan 5 System OK 43%
Fan 6 System OK 43%
2 CPU, All 6 fan's intalled, no errors. Same problems on 2 same servers, FC not hot at all at ANY load.
For test FC 82Q was instaled in dekstop and via QCC temp report max 30 C on converters so it's does't requers any additional AirFlow, i think.
When we remove HP StorageWorks 82Q 8Gb from server = fan speed at ANY load max 6- 10%,, no noise at all!
Server, ILO and HBA firmware = LATEST:
Firmware Name Firmware Version Location
HP Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 366FLR Adapter 1.2028.0 Embedded
HP StorageWorks 82Q 8Gb PCI-e Dual Port FC HBA 8.08.207 Slot 2
HPE Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 331T Adapter #2 20.16.31 Slot 3
iLO 2.77 Dec 07 2020 System Board
Intelligent Platform Abstraction Data 1.01
System Board Intelligent Provisioning 1.72.9
System Board Power Management Controller Firmware 3.3
System Board Power Management Controller Firmware
Bootloader 2.7
System Board Redundant System ROM P70 07/01/2015
System Board SAS Programmable Logic Device Version 0x0C
System Board Server Platform Services (SPS) Firmware 2.1.7.E7.4
System Board Smart Array P420i Controller 8.32 Embedded
System Programmable Logic Device Version 0x2F
System Board System ROM P70 05/24/2019
System Board System ROM Bootblock 03/05/2013 System Board
I think it's ILO software problem? What we can do to fix high fan speed and noise with HP 82q installed ?
By the way, with 2 CPU and 6 fans + 82Q intalled - "strange" CPU termal config on DL380p ...
CPU 1 = 40 C ANY load CPU 2 ~ 40 (standby) - 60+ C (with load)
HPE pls fix it ...
Tnx for help!
