DL385 Gen11 - How to connect a single SATA drive?
We bought a new DL385 Gen11 server with minimal configuration. It has one CPU, one 8-drive SFF cage at the front and I want to install one SATA SSD for booting.
The problem is, there are about 20 connectors on the board. I tried SATA connector 9A and 9B and 8B but my drive is not seen. As I understand there are multiple SATA controllers but only #1 seems to be active.
Question: What connectors go to #1 SATA controller? Do I need any kind of additional card to make onboard SATA work? Am I missing something?

Betreff: DL385 Gen11 - How to connect a single SATA drive?
OK, I figured out that #1 SATA controller connects to the 1A connector on the MB.
I also found that in my server is a "8 SFF 24G x1NVMe/SAS UBM6 BC BP" disk backplane. It does not mention SATA... will I need a different backplane?

SAS and SATA drives can work on same backplane but you wont be able to mix them in the same LD
