Dl385+opteron dual core. Virtual Server r2 issue
Recently I bought a new server. I had install Vs 2005 R2 X64 on this machine but it doesn't recognze correctly the dual core x64.
The problem appear when I try to install an x64 O.S. like windows 2003
enterprise x64 on a guest machine. I always got a message that claim that
I'm trying to install an x64 S.O. on a 32bit CPU.
This is the Physical Computer Properties on the virtual server:
Physical processors: 2
Logical processors: 4
Processor speed: 2.4 GHz
Processor type: AMD AuthenticAMD
Processor version: x86 F15 M1 S2
Processor features: MMX, SSE3, 3DNow!, x86-64
Memory
Total physical memory: 8992 MB
Available physical memory: 8395 MB
Network connections
Physical network adapter: HP NC7170 Dual Gigabit Server Adapter #2
Physical network adapter: HP NC7170 Dual Gigabit Server Adapter
Physical network adapter: HP NC7782 Gigabit Server Adapter
Physical network adapter: HP NC7782 Gigabit Server Adapter #2
Operating system Windows ServerT 2003, Enterprise Edition
System version 5.2.3790
Service Pack 1
In the event viewer I have also this message:
Virtual Server: Some nodes on this machine do not have local
memory. This can cause virtual machines to run with degraded performance
Thanks all

Re: Dl385+opteron dual core. Virtual Server r2 issue
Ok, Vs2005 r2 doesn't support 64 bit O.S. but it doesn't seems to be a problem.
The fact is that in the event viewer there is the same message that claim that I have no memory on node....
I'm worried
