DL585 G5 won't post on power up.
Powers up and cycles thru for a while then proc 3 memory lights all light up, and hex display says 42 and it bdeeps on and off.-
Have extra processor tray unit and get same results.
System did work, it sat unused a while. Also fell from vertical to horizontal; on carpet over cement.
Have tried cmos reset with SW3 - 6 (just switched on and off with unit un powered.
Any more ideas?

Re: DL585 G5 won't post on power up.
Hello User,
To clear nvram, turn on the S6 and let the server complete POST and then power off the server and set the switch 6 back to default position.
Suggest you to log a case wiith HPE to get further assistance on this case, it could be a HW issue, please collect the IML and log a case.

Re: DL585 G5 won't post on power up.
SW3-6 doesn't seem to make a difference.
Here is a video of what happens.

I have another cpu tray with 4 processors and memory, and it does the same thing.
Thanks;

Re: DL585 G5 won't post on power up.
This machine is too old for any type of serice ontract, or HP service work.
I am not familiar enough with this model, and would like help with error codes.
What deoes the ending 42 tell us?
Also, it never gets far enough to give any type of console video response.
I have Foundation series DVD, but doesn't go far enough to use it.
