Dlt on internal SCSI
I have an ADIC DLT tape drive attached to the external interface of the on-board SCSI controller of the ML530. The tape drive is rated at 180Mb/min. The backups are running at 220Mb/min and failing after 1 to 1.5 Gb with an error stating "a problem with the host interface" The tape drive works perfectly on a ML370 because it will only transfer at 165Mb/min. Is there a way to throttle the throughput of the SCSI controller so it doesn't overwhelm my tape drive???

Re: Dlt on internal SCSI
No response?!?
Well here is some more info for those who have the same problem. I had the tape drive replaced - same problem. I replaced the system board - same problem. I put a mylex scsi controller in a pci slot and the drive works great off of it. The best I can figure is that there is some fundamental flaw in the embedded scsi controller on the ML530. Compaq has not offered any other explanation.

Re: Dlt on internal SCSI
Might have tried checking in F10 setup for the SCSI controller's default settings. If it's defaulting to "auto" for the speed, you might want to change it to SCSI-1 or SCSI-2 instead.
