DMA errors reported from SAS controller

We've got an HP DL385-g2 box running Solaris 10 11/06 that has started spewing messages of this form:
------------------------------------
Error setting up next portion of DMA transfer
Apr 21 07:44:30 teak scsi: [ID 107833 kern.warning] WARNING: /pci@0,0/pci1166,14
2@12/pci103c,3234@0/sd@1,0 (sd2):
------------------------------------
These only show up under moderately heavy load. This is on a P400/512 SAS controller, hardware raid0 on 2 x 146GB drives, ZFS filesystem. Apparently there's no data corruption but users are complaining about slow performance.

We originally saw this in April and updated the disk controller firmware (to ver. 4.12) and the cpqary3 driver (to version 1.9.0). This made the problem go away until last week when it re-appeared. The error message is coming out of the 'sd' driver.

Has anyone else seen this problem ??

thanks,
Don M.

Re: DMA errors reported from SAS controller

Are you using ACUCLI or the hmastord SNMP agent?

Try upgrading to the latest cpqary3 driver. Versions prior to 1.92 had a memory leak that could cause this (memory leak was fixed in 1.92).
