Does hp raid controller really use ram cache for ssds?
Hello,
in a 440ar controller I have built a raid1 with sas disks and several raido0 with ssd disks.
I then disabled ssd smartcache and added controller cache.
SAS disk performance improved greatly using controller cache.
SSD improved nothing. I suspect the controller does not use its ram cache when the disk is ssd.
Or is it possible that with raid0 no ram cache is used?
Thanks,
Mario

Re: Does hp raid controller really use ram cache for ssds?
Greetings.
RAID 0 does not require cahce for performance. SSD itself is a flash technology which is better than SAS drives.
Thank you
