Does HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Plus support ASPM (Active State Power Management)?

Hello, I recently installed Linux (Proxmox VE 8.2 in my case) on my Microserver Gen 10 Plus.

When it boots, the kernel says that it does not support ASPM. See message lines below.

root@SERVER:~# dmesg | grep ASPM
[ 0.206273] ACPI FADT declares the system doesn't support PCIe ASPM, so disable it
[ 0.237766] acpi PNP0A08:00: _OSC: OS supports [ExtendedConfig ASPM ClockPM Segments MSI EDR HPX-Type3]
[ 0.237947] acpi PNP0A08:00: FADT indicates ASPM is unsupported, using BIOS configuration

As my server is equipped with Emulex OneConnect OCe14102B-U1-D 2-port PCIe 10GbE CNA, I checked whether it supports ASPM or not.

# Emulex Vendor ID is 0x10DF
root@SERVER:~# lspci -d 10DF:
07:00.0 Ethernet controller: Emulex Corporation OneConnect NIC (Skyhawk) (rev 11)
07:00.1 Ethernet controller: Emulex Corporation OneConnect NIC (Skyhawk) (rev 11)
root@SERVER:~# lspci -d 10DF: -vv | grep ASPM
                LnkCap: Port #0, Speed 8GT/s, Width x8, ASPM L0s L1, Exit Latency L0s <2us, L1 <16us
                        ClockPM- Surprise- LLActRep- BwNot- ASPMOptComp+
LnkCtl: ASPM Disabled; RCB 64 bytes, Disabled- CommClk+
                LnkCap: Port #0, Speed 8GT/s, Width x8, ASPM L0s L1, Exit Latency L0s <2us, L1 <16us
                        ClockPM- Surprise- LLActRep- BwNot- ASPMOptComp+
LnkCtl: ASPM Disabled; RCB 64 bytes, Disabled- CommClk+

It says ASPM L0s and L1 is supported but disabled.

Then I read official guides. According to the management guide (UEFI System Utilities User Guide for HPE ProLiant Gen10, ProLiant Gen10 Plus Servers, and HPE Synergy), "System Configuration > BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) > PCIe Device Configuration" has "PCIe Power Management (ASPM)" option, but that option does not exist on my Microserver Gen 10 Plus.

I couldn't find any useful documentation other than abovementioned one.

So I am asking for help. How can I enable ASPM on my server? Or, doesn't it support ASPM at all?

Sincerely

Hi,

The UEFI guide is generic to all Gen10 servers.
MicroServer Gen10 may not support that fuctionality.

For Reference:
Workload profile dependencies for Intel® Xeon® E processors
PCIe ASPM Support (Global)

Thank You!
