Drive Cage for HPE ProLiant ML350p Gen8 Server

Hello,

We have an old HPE ProLiant ML350p Gen8 Server (736978-425) with :

- 1x HP Smart Array P420i/1G FBWC Controller

- 1x first Standard drive cage (8 SFF)

- 8x 300GB 6G SAS 10K rpm SFF (2.5-inch) SC Enterprise ; in RAID 5

We would like to add a second drive cage and a second logical drive (RAID).

But we don't know the difference between these two models :

- HP 5U 8 Small Form Factor (SFF) Hot Plug Drive Cage Kit (659484-B21)

- HP 5U 8 SFF Expander Hard Drive Cage Kit (661714-B21)

Which one should we order ?

Do we need other components (cables, smart array card....) ?

Hi,

the first Drivecage 659484-B21 need an additional Controller, the Expander Cage use the existing RaidController.
