Drive Change
Currently have a DL-360 with 2 18 Gig Ultra II Drives. Will be replaceing them with 2 36 Gig Ultra III Drives. Is rebuilding the array one drive at a time the best solution? Then running the expand on the new avalable drive space? Any comments/suggestions are welcome. Also doe anyone have any idea how long to rebuild the array would tak and how taxing the process is. Currently Drives are mirrored and partitioned.

Re: Drive Change
time about 20 mins per gig on average. Replacing one at a time and letting drive rebuild and then use existing space to expand is probably the easiest way to go.

Re: Drive Change
Rebuilding the array worked fine. Then run the expand utility and assign the new found space to a logical drive.

Re: Drive Change
I'm also in the need of replacing my old 2x18GB mirrored drives with 2x36GB drives. The 2x18GB drives are not partitioned and also the 2x36GB drives shouldn't be.
I have the following questions:
1. Can I upgrade from 18GB to 36GB without beeing in the need of partition the free space in the new harddrive?
2. What is the Expand utility? Is it a Win2K utility or a compaq specific BIOS thing?
3. Can this upgrade be done WITHOUT shutting down Win2K?
I look forward hearing your comments:)
