DVD drive not recognized on a clean server

Hi I have a ML150 G2 and it is totally clean (down to I cant install windows due to HDD not being recognized) I removed the CD drive and added a DVD drive now the machine wont boot from CD or DVD.

Is there a set of drivers I should be running to help install DVD drive and get the RAID controller working (in win2k it installs the adaptec driver for RAID from floppy then still says it cannot find any drives)
