EISA Configuration
I have just purchased a Prosignia 500 and trying to install Linux.
Have upgraded to the latest ROMPaq and created a system partition.
I now have the problem:
175-EISA Configuration / Slot Mismatch Device Found
101 - I/O ROM Error
I know this refers to the EISA card in slot 2, which requests the file
!SLX0411.CFG, but I can not find this file anywhere (machine came with no disks what so ever).
If I remove the card system starts OK, but still get
101 - I/O ROM Error Message.
I am not exactly sure what the card is for either!
In Addition, I have set the boot order to CD, A, C and it just ignores the SCSI CD.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: EISA Configuration
Download and make the required system configuration disks from this web address.
http://www5.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/download/7489.html
All Compaq cards and devices use EISA configuration files that start with !CPQ. We do not know who the manufacture is of a card that requires a !SLX configuration file. You will need to look at the card and determine who the manufacture is. Then contact the manufacture for the EISA configuration file.
Verify that the CD-ROM drive jumpers for the SCSI ID and the SCSI termination is set correctly. If the SCSI cable has a black plastic terminator at the end of the cable, the SCSI termination must be removed from all devices connected to the cable. The booting hard drive should have a SCSI ID of 0.
You can perform a read test of the CD-ROM drive using the Compaq server diagnostics. Download and make the diagnostic disk from this web address.
