Email send by Event Notifier via SMTP (ML 350 G5)
Hi all,
we want to set up the event notifier for emailing events via SMTP. But we miss a field for username/password in the configuration wizard, our Mailserver (like problably most mailservers today) only accepts ASMTP.
We found a similar question on hp.com (http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1247584)
but there was no reply :-(
Is there any other way to set up the machine to send failure reports by email, especially without the insight manager?
Regards
Karsten

Re: Email send by Event Notifier via SMTP (ML 350 G5)
I've had a similar problem with my ml530 - except mine is something to do with BT/Yahoo.
I get an error message than smtp isn't authorised and I have to go to the bt/yahoo website to allow configuration (it's said to be blocked to prevent spam mail).
What actually needs to be done is amend the out going server details to say that authintication is needed for outgoing mail - you just tick a box to say use the same credentials as for the receipt of mail.
Trouble is that I've already done this and can send mail from OE no problem - but the event notifier won't accept this - I've even done the suggested download to no avail.
Something in the event notifier is not picking up the right configuration.
