ESXI 6.7 MOLTO LENTO
Salve a tutti,
hp proliant DL380 gen9
CPU Intel® Xeon® E5-2620 v3 a 2,40 GHz 10 core
128 GB
controller sas 440ar
1 x ssd wd 250gb esxi
2 x ssd samsung 4tb vm storage
Grazie

Hello everyone,
I have a licensed esxi 6.7 host on a server with these features
hp proliant DL380 gen9
Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2620 v3 2.40 GHz 10 cores
128 GB
controller sas 440ar
1 x ssd wd 250gb esxi
2 x ssd samsung 4tb vm storage
mounted on the two 4tb ssd in raid 1 there are 4 virtual machines that have worked well for 4 months
suddenly about 10 days ago all the VMs became very slow practically unusable.
The CPU and memory load is good the problem is the disk transfer speed.
I moved these 4 VMs with Veeam to the second working ESXI host and started some activities on the failed host,
this is what i did:
i deleted all arrays from the sas 440ar controller and recreated them without raid, so 3 arrays
I updated the server bios and the 440ar controller firmware to the latest version 7.20
i reinstalled vsphere 6.7 and created a new VM on a 4tb ssd, but the VM is always slow, then i created another VM on the other 4tb ssd, but the VM is always slow
i created a vm on ssd 240gb and the vm works fine
Why are the VMs created on the two 4tb ssd very slow?
Thanks

Re: ESXI 6.7 MOLTO LENTO
Hi,
Its a RCA issue thats what I see in the post, which typical needs all kinds of logs for analysis, my recommendation is please reach out the support team so they can assist you further, one think I can state is to check for the any firmware needed to update on the drives (but I see you have mentioned the vendor specific drives, if so its not a supported configuration and need to have the HPE drives on the system)
Best approch for this to reach out to the support team and work with them
Thanks
