Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

Hi,

it seems to be solved with a new driver:
HP ProLiant iLO 2 Management Controller Driver for Windows Server 2008 ver 1.11.1.0
26 May 2009

On my dl380g5 with windows 2003 it's now ok.

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

after updating the HP Proliant ilo2 Management Controller Driver
for Windows Server 2008 x64 Edition - 1.8.0.0
into version 1.11.1.0 the numerous logs has come down to 2 logs. Still it didnt solve the problem. Pls pls pls... Hp must come out with the answer of this error. I have read a lot of forums regarding this error. some says the 1.11 update resolved the problem, other says not. Unluckily, i was one of those who says NOT. pls help.

my server is HP DL380 G5 and running Windows Server 2008 x64.

thanks

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

Currently doing a force downgrade to 1.80 is the only solution. It will fix the errors and prevent ASR.

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

Hi! I already downgraded it to 1.8.0.0 last night. But this morning I got Event ID:57 hpqilo2 error again.

Failed GET SENSOR READIND, sensor 11
NetFN 0x4, command 0x2D timed out.

Thanks

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

I have tried all possiblities with older drivers and also with the most recent including the firmware update of the ilo card.

I still have vent id 57 on my Proliant BL460c and i had to disable the Automatic System Restart option to avoid unexpected server reboot.

Does anyone know how to fix this once for ever?

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

I called HP and they told me to install the iLO driver sys mngmt 1.11.1.0 + fw iLo .78 + BIOS update. Problem should be solved (it was for a ML350G5 + win 2003std

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

I have the same problem. Fresh server build: SmartStart 8.25 (ProLiant Support Pack V8.25 A), Windows Server 2003 R2 32-bit with Service Pack 2, Windows updates are current, ML350 G5 with 2009.05.12 BIOS, iLO 2 with V1.78 firmware. I will try the HP ProLiant iLO 2 Management Controller Driver V1.11.1.0 and report back!

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

Approximately 16 minutes after I reboot the server, Event ID 57 HPQILO2 would stack up heavily. After applying CP011016.EXE, the events have not come back. I have rebooted the server several times, waited 16 minutes or so, then checked the log and nothing (so far.) I will let the server run over night and report back any further problems.

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

After updating to V1.11.1.0, I am still gettings two Event 57 warnings:

NetFN 0x4, command 0x2D timed out
and
Failed GET SENSOR READING, sensor 16

Any ideas?

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

HP support asked me to Restore Default System Settings in the RBSU, then re-install the iLO 2 Management Controller Driver (V1.11.1.0) and that has not helped. I have lots of Event 57 warnings again (and the potential for server lock-ups and ASR events.) The HP rep told me they are aware of this "critical" issue and guarantee a new driver ASAP.

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

Well, we have about 260 Hp serveurs and we have advertisement from HPSIM alert. So we upgraded few HP dl 580 and 585 servers and we have got the same 57 event id from the 1.11.1.0 ILO2 management driver and a kernel w2k3 reboot! I don't find any new driver from hp, restoring a correct fonction

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

I had the same issues. HP just released a new iLO2 Management Driver 1.11.2.0. I installed PSP 8.25 which installs the 1.11.1.0 driver. i then upgraded the driver to 1.11.2.0 and all hpqilo2(Event ID 57) went away. No ASR's as well. Try this method and see what happens.

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

I have upgraded our DL385G2 server to the latest available driver on HP web site, (Version 1.14.0.0 cp009469.exe). We are still logging Event ID 57, HPQILO2 errors.
Also receiving false SNMP traps stating redundant fan removed referencing different fans.

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

Just to let every know...

I downgraded the HP ProLiant iLO 2 Management Controller Driver to version 1.11.1.0 and I was getting only the two error messages.

Last night I upgraded back to 1.11.2.0 and now I'm not getting any messages.

Problem solved? ... I'll wait and see.

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

I wasn't having the reboots though I was getting the sensor error messages in the event logs daily as well as some false alarms coming from SIM regarding this server.

Three nights ago I upgraded my HP ProLiant iLO 2 Management Controller Driver from version 1.11.1.0 to version 1.11.2.0 and since then not a single bad log entry or false alarm.

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

I am having the same problems but I am using SBS 2003. Do I use the Windows Server 2003 updates as there doesn't seem to be any updates specific to SBS 2003.

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

HI

Do you have one solution ? I have the same error : "NetFN 0x4, command 0x2D timed out".
I updated the "Online ROM Flash for Windows - HP Integrated Lights-Out 2 to the version 1.79 (28/08/2009)" It was completed successfully.
I update the "HP ProLiant iLO 2 Management Controller Driver for Windows Server 2003" to 1.12.0.0 and when I go to the log : I see that the installation procedure was completed successfully. But when I launch again the same update, the POP UP tells me that it was not up to date and my Current Version is 1.11.0.0.

This update seems not to be installed but at the end of the process and in the log : it is OK (The installation procedure was completed successfully).

And I always have the same error "NetFN 0x4, command 0x2D timed out". Do you have a solution for my problem. It is a bug HP ? I think I must not restartmy server for this update ?

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

You need to upgrade your version of iLO2 Management Driver to version 1.11.2.0

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

I try to upgrade to the version 1.11.2.0 (cp011257.exe) but I have the same problem. In the POP UP and in the log, all is OK but when I restart this cp011257.exe. -> The current version is 1.11.0.0.

Any idea ?

Re: EVENT ID 57 HPQILO2

We're seeing the same issue.

Win2k3 SP2 x64
DL365G1
Firmware/Drivers/ROM are all pretty old.

It seems to be isolated to our DL365's. We had an unexpected shutdown on 9/21 and I see the event ID 57 in the logs.

We also see this logged in the iLO 2 Log:

BMC IPMI Watchdog Timer Timeout: Action=System Power Reset.

We will be updating as follows:

PSP 8.30
Firmware Update CD 8.60
ROM: 2009.07.17 (21 Jul 2009)
MS Storport.sys array driver (recommended to us by MS after looking at our crashdump file)
- you may or may not need this

I have one system that has been fully updated last Thursday (9/17) so we'll see how it goes.
