Extend RAID 1 + 0 on Smart Array P410i
Hi Guys,
I have a customer who has a DL380 G6 with the embedded Smart Array P410i which I initially configured with 4 x 146GB SAS drives in RAID 1+0, as the only options available were RAID 1 and RAID 1+0.
The customer has now purchased an additional 2 x 146GB HDDs and I need to extend the RAID 1+0 array without losing data.
Can anyone run me through the process that I need to take? I can't see any suitable options in the online ACU so I assume I will need to make the change offline, but I want a plan of action before I start screwing around with it and potentially lose any data.
Will I need to split the Array before adding drives or should it be as simple as an 'extend array' in the offline ACU?
Any guides or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Extend RAID 1 + 0 on Smart Array P410i
I think you have the low end version of the p410i that doesn't allow extending a raid volume. You probably need to buy the BBWC option to unlock this feature.
Then you should be able to do everything online, although extending the partitions might be limited if you got basic disks setup.
First extend the array using ACU the extend the partitions using diskpart.
BTW, I'm assuming you are using Windows.
