Extend Storage on Hp Proliant DL380 G5
Hello experts,
I need guide how to extend the storage capacity on my server. Currently I already have 3x72gb storage on my server slot. I want to add another 2 or 3 hard disk to increase the storage of the server. Curently the server use RAID -5 with windows 2003. i have a few question :
1) do i need to reconfigure server including formatting in order to add storage size?
2) Did the file that already in the storage will be missing if the storage are increase?
I really hope that anybody can help me to solve the problem.
Thanks ..

Re: Extend Storage on Hp Proliant DL380 G5
Hi,
DL380 G5 can take upto 8 SFF SAS hard drives.
You may add additional hard drives if controller supports.
A battery backed write cache may be required to Expand and Extend the array once additional hard drives are installed.
Refer to this document for more information.

Its always recommended to take a valid backup of your data before doing any such activity.
Thank You!
I am a HP employee
