External SAS Enclosure Overheating

Hi

I have a HP ML350 server that has started to generate the above mentioned error.

The Cissesrv agent generates an event id 24588:

Sensor number 1 has reported that the internal temperature has exceeded the preset limit. This sensor is located in box 1 which is connected to port 2I of array controller [Embedded]. The array controller may attempt to shut down power to the attached box and/or spin down the installed disk drives.

15-20 minutes later it logs that the error is corrected (Sensor number 1 has reported that a previously existing temperature condition has been corrected.)

I haven't been able to find any documentation regarding cissesrv.

The error has happend 3 times in the last two weeks.

Is this just a sensor that is malfunctioning or is it something more serious?

Thanks in advance,
Jan

I am having the same issue with a DL580. Did you ever find a solution to this or find out what was causing the issue?

Re: External SAS Enclosure Overheating

Hi

In our case it was because we didn't have the redundant powersupply plugged in. Since having both powersuplies connected the error hasn't occured.
