External SCSI Connection
When connecting an external Pinnacle Micro Ultra 5.2 magneto-optical drive I get a "1702-SCSI Cable Error Detected, System Board" message on start-up. I do not know what is wrong.

Re: External SCSI Connection
What kind of SCSI connection is on the external SCSI device? What kind of SCSI cable is being used? What do the connections on the cable look like?
Do you have any internal SCSI devices connected on the integrated SCSI controller? The integrated SCSI controller does not support both internal and external devices at the same time. This is because both SCSI connections are on the same SCSI bus. The controller does not perform pass-thru SCSI bus termination when both internal and external SCSI devices are connected.
If no other internal SCSI devices are connected, verify that the SCSI bus termination is set correctly on the external SCSI device. If the SCSI bus termination and cable are correct, the SCSI device should be listed on the screen when the SCSI controller BIOS loads.
