Failed Array , HP DL380 G4
Hi,
I had my server array confguration as following
Array A
72 GB port2 SCSI ID 0
72 GB port2 SCSI ID 3
Then SCSI ID 3 slot failed , so i can't add any disk neither the old disk nor a new disk to rebulid the Array !
how can i move the Array A configuration to a new slots (i.e : SCSI ID 4 , SCSI ID 5) ?
or how can i use another SCSI ID ( instead of the failed one) with the SCSI ID 0 to rebuild the RAID 1 again !?
Note:
I got a new disk cuz at first i thought the problem in the old disk but then i discoverd the problem in the slot itself ! (im just saying that in case a new disk could help by anyway !)
BR,

Re: Failed Array , HP DL380 G4
I think the best you can in this situation is to create а volume on a new drive, then move your data to the new volume from the degraded mirror, then break a mirror, and recreate mirror again, using different slots.
That way is safest for the data, however, you can try to add your new drive as a global spare, so SA6i should rebuild your RAID using that new drive. Then move "failed" drive to another slot and try joining him as a new member of your RAID.
There are other ways, but they are more risky to the data.
