Failed SmartArray Battery

ML350G4

Smart Array 642 Controller (firmware 2.84)

 

Originally this machine had a Smart Array 641 controller and started generating failed battery message.  Replaced battery.  Message persisted.  Replaced controller with a 642 (moved memory and battery from 641 controller).  Message persists.  What next?

The cache module itself could be bad.
