Fatal Error 275

Dear Colleagues,

I have one HPE ML 350 Gen9 server and am attempting to add two Kingston ssd 1.92 TB after receiving the following messages.

Smart Array P440ar in Embedded slot cannot be configured. The controller contains a logical drive that was created with a newer version of the array Configuation tools. Please obtain the latest version of the array configuration tools to configure this controller. Please assist me in resolving the issue and with the current version of the smart Array 7.0. OS Win 2012 R2

Thanks

Tiji

Re: Fatal Error 275

Hello,

Where are you seeing this message? Are you going into Intelligent Provisioning (IP) and selecting the array configuration utility there? If so, you likely just need to update your version of IP. You may also be able to go into the ROM based configuration and that should also work. To update IP you should download the ISO and boot off of it:

https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/swd/detail?swItemId=MTX_a5907d37073a49e3938f79be55

I would make sure to read the information in the release notes as there may be other requirements (possible upgrade of iLO firmware) to make this work correctly. FYI...the version of IP you need is a variation of 2.x. All Gen9 based servers use version 2.x.

Regards

Re: Fatal Error 275

Hi @Tiji,

Good day!

Could you please confirm where the error messages are seen.

If its on SSA from Intelligent Provisioning(IP), you may update the IP and check.

Also try updating the Controller Firmware as well - to 7.20 and check.

Try to share the Screenshots if available.

Thank you

Re: Fatal Error 275

Hi @Tiji,

Ideally there should be no issues, but it always better to have Back up before performing any activity.

Thank you

Re: Fatal Error 275

@Tiji I'm having this same error. I've attempted to boot from the ISO like you mentioned, but I'm getting an error message that kernels are missing (vmlinuz and vesamenu.c32)?

How do I boot into the ROM like you mentioned?

I've been searching for days on the appropriate fix for this, but can't figure it out!
