Fault LED on Ultra320 drive
One of the drives in our DL360 G4i has the amber fault LED on (not flashing), but the "Activity" LED is also on. The Online LED is off.
This combination doesn't appear in the troubleshooting guide's "Hot-plug SCSI hard drive LED combinations" on page 19; the only time the fault light is solidly on, both the other LEDs should be off.
Running the HP Insight Diagnostics, it claims the drive is fine but the SmartArray controller has spun it down. Suggested fixes include reseating the drive and controller.
I *believe* the drive can be re-seated (taken out and put right back in) while the system's running (else why is it hot-pluggable?), but what about the controller?
Thanks,
H

Re: Fault LED on Ultra320 drive
Hi, controller is most likely not hot pluggable. If you have the 6i controller it might also not be possible to take it out (integrated on system board)
You may however be able to reseat a memory module if you have that attached to the controller.
