Feature Board

We have Arcserve 6.6 Single Server running with a 12/24 DDS3 and a feature board.The backup will always fail with errors 1051 and 1145, which both indicate hardware errors.
We have had the feature board,the DDS3, the Scsi cable and the system board changed by Compaq and the error still occurs.Computer Associates say the error codes are most definately hardware related.
I have a feeling it is the feature board because we have had problems with them in the past, If so can we put another Scsi card in without affecting the feature board.
Netware and Arcserve are both up to the latest patches.
Can you offer any help ?

64-Bit/66MHz Dual Channel Wide Ultra3 SCSI Adapter 129803-B21

Both the above controllers are supported in that server. Have you run the Compaq Hardware Diagnostics on the tape drive, if so, what are the errors given?
