Firewire problem
I am servicing a ML570 which has an adaptec 1394 card installed in one of the hot swap pci slots. The card is showing fault and the tape drives atached to it are lost. I replaced the adaptec card with a new one to no avail. I tried rebooting the system a number of timea and the card still fails. Any suggestions.

Re: Firewire problem
Test the card in another system. If it works and you can access the tape drives using that other system, the fault lies within the server.
Do you have any other system with a known good 1394 interface? Try accessing the drives using it. If that fails, the fault is in the tape drives or in their cabling.
