Firmware upgraded in wrong order
Hi guys,
Can you please help.
We have 3 brand new servers ready to go on-site for a client and have jsut found out that we upgraded the Firmware on the Raid cards in the wrong order, however we have no problems at all.
This is what we done.
ML350g3
Smart array 642
Upgrade the bios on the server and built windows 2000.
We then received the additional part called "Smart array 642 64MB BBWC Enabler) which was installed into all 3 servesr, my guy then read the compaq "updated information card in the box and found that it said
"DO NOT INSTALL THE MODULE UNTIL THE FIRMWARE FOR THE RAID CARD IS UPGRADED FROM 1.14 TO 1.30."
We have simply done it in the wrong order howerver are having no problems, i am worried incase something down the line happens when the servers are fully live and working.
Anuy help please......
P.S, the Compaq note does state that the 642 MUST be upgraded prior to installing the Cache Module...i simply need to know why and how can this effect me....
