Ghost image of Raid Array
I'm wondering if I can make a Ghost image of the Raid Array that I presently have and be able to re-ghost it back onto a new Array that I must create with bigger drives. As of now, I have (3) 9.1 GIG hard drives setup as Raid 5 and would like ot upgrade to (5) 18.2 GIG drives in a much larger array. I would like to ghost an image of what I presently have on the 9 gig drives and then install the 18 gig drives, create an array of 5 drives of 18 gigs in size then ghost the original image back onto the new array. Is this possible?
Thanks,
Mike Stevens

Re: Ghost image of Raid Array
Hello Mike,
We do not support Ghosting or Imaging of HDDs. You will be better of by backing up your data, recreate your array with new HDDs and then restore from the backup. If you need further clarification please call 1-800-ok-compaq.

Re: Ghost image of Raid Array
yes, it works, i have done it.
what i did was ghost the image to an external scsi drive i attached the the onboard scsi. kill the current array, made the new array and ghosted it back.
you could also save the image to the network instead of another drive like i did.
