Ghosting

Is it possible to Ghost and restore to the Integrated Smart Array Controller on a DL380. The Array is setup as a RAID 5 with a hot spare.

It is not recommended to Ghost on Compaq Smart Array Controller. This can cause duplicate logicals in your Array.

I am glad no one told me this before! I have been using GHOST on all my DL380's without any problems for a long time. Although I just do partition restores. Very usefull when 'playing' with various configs to always be able to rewind in less than 10 minutes.

What do you mean by duplicate logicals?

We've been using it very successfully.
