Got an OLD ML350 G1 and need to underclock the 2nd CPU
Hey guys,
I recently got an ancient (but still functional) Compaq ML350 server from a friend. When I got it, there was only one CPU in there and no terminator board in the second slot. In other words, the system wouldn't boot. So I bought a CPU on eBay and it arrived in great condition, however it's 66MHz faster than the other one and as a result won't work. Does anyone here know how to use motherboard jumpers to underclock the CPU, or if not how to mod the CPU so that it runs 66MHz slower?
Server specs:
Compaq ML350 G1
Intel Xeon 866MHz CPU, 256KB Cache
Intel Xeon 933MHz CPU, 256KB Cache <- in need of an underclock
896MB RAM
All the rest of the stuff from the original ML350
Thanks,
dandaman32

Re: Got an OLD ML350 G1 and need to underclock the 2nd CPU
This won't work, CPUs have to be the same type.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Thanks Torsten.
Is there anyone who has a spare one of these that would be willing to trade?
