GPU for HPE Proliant DL380 Gen 10
Hello,
Looking at a Nvidia Quadro RTX 6000 to go into our DL380 gen 10 server, before i order this card and install it i wanted to make sure my system has a compatibile CPU - Intel Xeon CPU E5 2650 v3
And the list of components below is all i would need to allow me to install it into my server:
HPE DL38X Gen10 8x 6‑pin Cable Kit. - SKU # 871830-B21
HPE DL380 Gen10 High Performance Heat Sink Kit - SKU # 826706-B21
HPE DL38X Gen10 High Performance Temperature Fan Kit - SKU # 867810-B21
Is there anything else i would need i might be missing that i would need to be able to run this GPU on this system?
Also an additional question is can i still use a network card in the PCI slot above it ? as i understand this GPU will take up two slots of space.
I have tried alot of research but come across some conflicting information and just wanted to be clear before i invest and buy for the server. If any additional information is needed please feel free to ask for it.
Thanks
Andy

Re: GPU for HPE Proliant DL380 Gen 10
Hi there
You might need the GPU riser card / cage if it is not already installed. -> 826694-B21
Depending on your needs.
You can check for necessary parts the spare parts and option parts lists here:https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=c04396629#N10D16

Re: GPU for HPE Proliant DL380 Gen 10
We have been looking at possibly going for an RTX 4000 Ada generation , i struggle to find anything to do with this card and what components it needs to connect to the DL380 Gen 10 , my understanding is that the SFF version doesnt need external power ? any links to documention for HP side would be great, OR if it is even compatible
Thanks, Andy

Re: GPU for HPE Proliant DL380 Gen 10
Yes. The RTX4000 needs to be connected via additional power cable between the gpu and the riser card.
Please check the parts lists for your server model.
Go to:https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=c04396629 [Moderator edit: Removed the broken link. Please refer to https://support.hpe.com/]
Search for your server model.
You will find the parts list and the option parts list.
From there go to the opions parts list.
In the options parts list search for the RTX 4000 GPU.
You will find all the parts you need listed there.
The installation guide you will find here:

Re: GPU for HPE Proliant DL380 Gen 10
No, HPE has not tested the server with an HDMI adapter. Please use the available VGA port instead.

Re: GPU for HPE Proliant DL380 Gen 10
Hi @TQ12 ,
I'm looking into two RTX 8000 cards on the HPE Proliant DL380 Gen10 for Large Language Models.
I am not sure what accessories I would need to pull off this installation. Could you kindly advise?

Re: GPU for HPE Proliant DL380 Gen 10
@BenWycliff That's pretty simple. In addition to the two GPUs you will need:
- 2 slot GPU riser cards (AFAIK also available as GPU enablement kit incl. cables)
- Cable kit for the GPU riser cards (I'm unsure if it is included with the risers)
- High performance fans and high performance cpu heatsinks (AFAIK available as single parts or as High performance cooling kit)
- More powerful power supplies 800W 1200W 1600W
Here are all the necessary documents in which you can find the part numbers and further information.

Cheers
