hard drive acceptable sizes
I have one of the original ProLiant 2500R servers with Raid5 and 5 SCSI Ultra Wide 2.1Gb HD's. I need more space and one of the drives has just failed. Everything I see in the support area talks about 4.1Gb drives and larger. Can I add larger drives to this array, and if so, how large can I go?

Re: hard drive acceptable sizes
The highest you can go is a 36GB Wide Ultra SCSI3 HDD. This drive is 1.6 inches thick which means you can only use 2 of these and one 1 inch HDD.
For 1 inch drives you can use either 18GB or 9GB. These come in either a 7200RPM or 10000RPM.

Re: hard drive acceptable sizes
There are also 1" 36.4GB Wide-Ultra SCSI-3 10,000 rpm drives available (176498-B21) that will work. You're still limited by the 5 drive bays on this chassis. You could also consider attaching an external storage cabinet to provide additional storage.
