Hard drive errors on DL180G5
We are attempting to get SAN solution called Open-E to work on a pair of DL180G5 servers. The solution works find on one of the servers, but the second server log keeps repeating the messages
CCISS controller /dev/cciss/c0d0 reported: Fatal drive error, Port: 1I Box: 1 Bay: 0. 2011/03/23 15:21:59 CCISS controller /dev/cciss/c0d0 reported: Fatal drive error, Port: 1I Box: 1 Bay: 3.
The controller is an E200. I have already swapped out the drives, multiple times, could this be an E200 failure? How would I diagnose

Re: Hard drive errors on DL180G5
Upgrade the firmware on the controller and cards ... check the working server, is the firmware different between the two? Also, are the drivers different on the two servers (good -v- bad) for cciss?
If the firmware update doesn't help, replace the controller, a bad controller can cause these issues. One way you can test is move the "good" server's controller to the "bad" server's chassis and see if the problems follow the controller.
