Hard Drive Firmware Update

I am having a heck of a time finding out how to upgrade the firmware on my ULTRA320 SCSI hot-swap hard drives in my servers.

Does anyone have an easy way to do this????

Please help, I've spent hours on HP's website trying to find an answer.......

Re: Hard Drive Firmware Update

Hi JJonkman,

You may have to find the model number of the hard drive first and then refer to the below link for the download of the firmwares for the appropriate hard drive:

Hope this helps!!!

Re: Hard Drive Firmware Update

Hi JJonkman,

The normal method to update the firmware of the Harddisk is by using the Firmware Maintenance CD. Download the latest Firmware Maintenance CD from the following link:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/networking/us/download/24819.html

Boot from this cd and scan the server. After the server is scanned it will give you the list of components that could be update. Follow the process and it will update the firmware of the component.

If there is a latest update available for a harddrive or a component that is not listed in the Firmware Maintenance CD. Boot from the Firmware Maintenance CD, click on suppliment tab and load the latest firmware from the floppy. Once the firmware is loaded goback to the main screen and update the firmware to the harddisk.

Regards,
Raj.
