hardware configuration not available on ML 530 g2
I just aquired a brand new ML530G2/2procesors/2,4 Ghz.Array controler 532.
It was configured by the local provider and OS/w2kserver installed by myself.
There are tow problems.
1. In F10 when I click on hardware configuration the system reboots
2. w2k OS sees 4 processors instead of 2.
What I did to fix 1.
-deleted system configuration utility and reinstall from smart start disk 5.4
-erased NVRAM with HDD's out from the cage
-put the switch no. 6 from the motherboard on ON and erased NVRAM and CMOS
-erased NVRAM and conf utility partition from SS disk 5.4 and reinstalled them with configuration utility 2.7 disks from SS 5.2
-combination of the am procedures
same problem
When the server reboots and press F10 and click on hardware configuratioen the server reboots
All the nother functions from F10 work including INSPECT and all tests work fine
Appreciate any helpful answer
thank you

Re: hardware configuration not available on ML 530 g2
I'd contact my local provider and have them build this machine correctly, especially being that you just bought it. You paid for the computer, expecting to have it work correctly, and seeing that it doesn't, then your recourse is to DEMAND a correctly configured and functioning server!

Re: hardware configuration not available on ML 530 g2
Thank you for your concern. Meanwhile I soved it.
FYI.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All,
When you install DL/ML-G2/3 servers with a Smartstart version below 6.00, it will still create a System Configuration partition but without the SCU! The only tools really installed are Diagnostics and Inspect.
You'll need to configure these 'new' servers with the built-in Rom Based Setup Utility (RBSU) by pressing F8 during boot, it works great and faster than SCU.
