Help adding tape drive
ML370, 733Mhz, 256M RAM, Integrated Smart Array Controller, 5 18G Drives Raid 5. NT Server 4, SP6a.
Adding a 3rd party Tape Drive (OnStream 50 - Internal, SCSI-2 Fast Narrow, LVD). Drive works in non-compaq server. SCSI LUN = 6, Termination removed, using 68->50 pin adapter. Connected to SCSI Port 1 on integrated controller (only device).
Unable to detect the drive. Any help appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Don

Re: Help adding tape drive
remove the internal scsi-cable if you don?t use, otherwise the termination will be wrong. On our server it was attached on the motherboard, but in the other end it was not attached to any hardware. I guess the termination will be incorrect when you attach a external tape drive

Re: Help adding tape drive
The BIOS on the server may not support the tape drive ...
