[HELP] Cannot Configure HP Storage DL360 Gen9

Hello,

Trouble in my NEW SERVER HP DL360 GEN9. I'am try to configure server disc (HP SAS 300GB), but i can't see menu to configure that. License has been downloaded from myenterpriselicense.hpe.com, i placed serial (25 character) to Licence Management at HP Intellegent Provisioning menu. But system respond with message box "Please enter valid license key". Please tell me how to solve this trouble.

Thank you.

License has nothing to do with disk configuration.

Where exactly do you see the license message?

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: [HELP] Cannot Configure HP Storage DL360 Gen9

Thank you for the reply. I go to the HP Intelligent Provisioning > HP Smart Storage Administrator, I chose Smart HBA H240 (Slot 1), but when I click Configure no choice of anything, only Enable Raid and Modify Power.

I want to create a partition for Windows. I can not get into Windows Server installation because the disk was not found. I asked for help to cope with this. I purchased two HP DL360 servers and new Gen9 first installation server. I look at the other server installations are License Manager and other menus. But I do not see the menu.

Sorry if there is a sentence that is less good in my language. I'am from indonesia. Please help me for this problem.

Thank you.

Re: [HELP] Cannot Configure HP Storage DL360 Gen9

First find out where the disks are connected to, you have 2 controllers. The built-in B140i is on the systemboard, the H240 is likely a PCIe card (maybe you have a H240ar?).

The H240 can provide each disk as it is or you switch to raid mode and configure a raid (this is enable raid meaning).

(12) is the built-in B140i

(6) is the H240ar or P440ar

Problem in video. Sorry for video quality.

Tomorrow I will try to re-set the section. For two days I have not found a solution. Tomorrow I'll post here. Stanby please for my experience. Thank you.

Re: [HELP] Cannot Configure HP Storage DL360 Gen9

The problem is '0 physical drives' - no drives, no config.

Open the server and have a look at the cables.

BTW, the license you talked about is for smart cache, an additional feature.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Did you add the controller in slot1?  Did you also change the cable from the drive backplane that normally goes to the embedded controller?  The PCIe H240 controller requires a different cable from the backplane to the controller as the one that ships connected to the B140i is not long enough.
