Help! DL385 G1 Will Not Boot.

Hello everyone i acquired this server 30 days ago and everything was running great. I installed 6-147gb drives and loaded Win2003/Win2008 esx along with Xenserver without issue. Powered off the unit and now it will not boot at all. Nothing nada zip! No error beeps, No read Led lights the drives look like they initiated and the monitor stays blank. It never gives me an active monitor. Here is what ive done.
1.) Moved swapped emptied and changed all memory in any way i could
2.) Pulled and reset anything that plugs in Included Memory, Cpu, Vrm
3.) removed the raid mem module and battery
4.) Installed trial version of iLO and no screen there. No errors noted.
5.) to keep myself from insanity i change the monitor with a different monitor (Nothing)

I am out of idea's

My specs:
HP Proliant DL385 2x DUAL CORE Opteron 280 2.4GHz 12GB Ram
2X36GB_scsiX15k Mirror
4X74GB_scsiX10k Raid5

Any help would be appreciated

What about power supply?

Have you tried to power on without no memory?
you wont have video, but it should beep.

You can also try to unplug everything, just power supply, processor and memory to eliminate possibilities.

Good luck

Re: Help! DL385 G1 Will Not Boot.

Help if yopu have any ideas. I found multiple articles that pointed to a motherboard replacement so i took the jump and replaced the motherboard only to have the same problem. The server will not post. Now we have 2 new VRM's i additionaly swapped out power supplies with the motherboard replacement everything got resat. What else can cause the the server not to start up? I removed both cpu's and all memory and the machine started and turned off i then put a cpu and 2 mem chips and all motherboard lights are green and the fan is spinning but i never posted Anything anyone?

Re: Help! DL385 G1 Will Not Boot.

Answer:

New motherboard? Nope didnt work. Nothing more frustrating then replacing the motherboard and have the exact same error. Spoke with LEVEL1 support at hp and we dumbed down the server and still nothing. After 2 hours we found a internal article that references a proglem with the DL385G1 with the PCI riser cage. Well after swapping and trading and changing i decided to replace the PCI riser cage and guess what? Worked the machine is now posting and booting. Finished installing esxi so all is well in South Florida...... Thanks
