Help me update firmware for P420i please - No OS

I have  a Proliant DL360p G8 with a P420i controller and it's failed during PSOT. I'm getting the following message:

1783-Slot 0 Drive Array Controller Failure | [Self-test failure (cmd=0h, err=00h, lockup=0DEAD:DEADh)]

A oogle search confirms that since I've already tried reseating the card, I either need to update the firmware or it's a faulty card. I have 2 identical servers and so I've switched the cards and the card works in the other server. It appears I need to update the firmware, however everywhere I go online to find the formware update assums I'm installing the firmware from an OS. I don't have an OS and so can't update the firmware using the .exe file.

I need, perhaps a .iso file so to boot into that using a USB drive or virtual CDROM.

Please help. I want to install an OS but can't because there are no HDDs to install onto.

Thanks

Re: Help me update firmware for P420i please - No OS

Hello,

The P420i is an embedded controller.

Could you please confirm how was the reseat done?

For the iso file. You can use the below SPP for Gen8 servers

https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/softwaredetails?language=en_US&softwareId=MTX_ff582daf008c4f529c4d6c28f6

If the firmware update is not successful, then you will have to get the system board replaced.

Thanks,

TAM
