How do I configure Mirroring and Raid?
I have two 9.1GB drives and want to mirror them. I have run through SmartStart several times and can never get it to help me set up "hardware" mirroring. I have pressed F10 at the start and found where to configure the array, but it asks for a disk. I have created the disk and when I put it in, it asks me to reboot from the disk. However, the disk is not bootable. So... I installed the support Paq and it couldn't install the array config utility (ACU) for some reason. I also downloaded the newest version of the ACU and ran it in Win 2K (which is the OS I installed), but it says it doesn't need to be installed and only gives me the option to close. Here's what I'd like to do:
I want to configure the two 9.1 GB drives as "hardware" mirrored. I will later add some 18GB drives to create a RAID-5 system. The OS I am installing is Windows 2000 Advanced Server. Can someone please tell me how to accomplish the mirroring portion?
Thank you.

Re: How do I configure Mirroring and Raid?
don't hit f10 for quick config at start, let smart start carry on.
You will have to trash the OS if one exists.
Um....you do have an array controller don't you??????

Re: How do I configure Mirroring and Raid?
It took me a while, but I finally found out that my server had only the default SCSI controller. It does not have a RAID controller in it. According to my call in to Compaq, if I had the RAID controller, SmartStart would have taken me through the steps to configure it. Thanks for your input.
