Re: how to configure RAID utitlity HDD while we have only one Hard disk
I don't see much use of configuring RAID with only one disk. You may only be able to use RAID 0 and it would not improve performance because there's only one disk.
You can enter the embedded SATA RAID BIOS as follows.
0.
1. Restart the server and press F8 (if i remember correct) when prompted to enter SATA RAID controller BIOS.
2. Select Config Drives
3. Select Create Array
4. You may get a warning about data getting lost. Press Y.
5. Create the array with the required configuration.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Shiraj.

Re: how to configure RAID utitlity HDD while we have only one Hard disk
I forgot to mention that I'm not sure if the embedded SATA RAID controller will allow you to create a RAID 0 array with only one disk because I haven't tried it.
On Smart Array controllers RAID 0 is the default when you have a single disk.
Best regards,
Shiraj.

Re: how to configure RAID utitlity HDD while we have only one Hard disk
"Press f8 for embedded SATA RAID controller #0"
when I pressed F8 I have option "Array configuration Utiliy".
Then follow the following procedure
1. Enter the Array Configuration Utility.
2. Enter Create array .
3. Create the raid volume. Select the Hard Drives
after that i have an error "No ARRAY to create with no.of drive selected. Please review your drive selection"
I have confuse what is the right prodecedure to configure RAID when I have only one drive(160 gb).
I have "HP Proliant ML 110 G5 Server"
(160 gb HDD,1GB RAM, Xenon processer)

Re: how to configure RAID utitlity HDD while we have only one Hard disk
I suggest you add another 160GB Disk to your server and configure a RAID1 array using the procedure I posted earlier.
If not disable SATA RAID from the BIOS and use the single disk. This is the same as having a single disk in RAID0. There's not much meaning in RAID with only one disk. RAID -> Redundant Array of Independent(Inexpensive) Disks.

Shiraj.

I have checked hard drive connection which is correct.

I have following information:

PXE-MOF: Exiting HP PXE ROM

I Have "HP ProLiant ML110 G5 server(16o GB HDD, 1 GB RAM , XENON processer).
