How to connect HP Proliant to laptop/monitor
Hi Guys
I'm extremely new to the installation of servers and I've been tasked with building a Proliant DL360 G7 server.
I have a question which probably seems quite daft so sorry in advance!
I've decided to try installing the OS and configuring the server prior to racking it. To do this I figured I could just hook the server up to a monitor, keyboard and mouse and commence the installation then rack it after, however the jumper cable has nowhere to plug into. It's just a male/female cable with one end plugging into the server and nowhere for the other end?
I know this is pretty basic but I'm just wondering how the heck I use as the power source? I assume I'm missing something?
Thanks
Lindtt

Re: How to connect HP Proliant to laptop/monitor
Hi guys
Just an update on this.
I've also got a hot plug power supply which came seperately and has yet to be opened.
Could this have something to do with it? I believe this is more for the prevention of any down time in the event that the server power supply fails.
Thanks
Lindtt

I am assuming thats your power cable that came with the server. You can use a std pc power cable, hopefully you have figured that out already :)
