How to deactive HP Shared Memory on HP DL380 G9
Hello,
I order to remove the following Linux kernel message many people encounter :
DMAR: ERROR: DMA PTE for vPFN 0x6ae8d already set
HP advise to deactivate HP Shared Memory because of a hardware limitation : https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-c04565693
As you can see on the following screen captures, there is no HP Shared Memory option on the server (ROM: P89 v2.90 (04/29/2021)) with FLOM 530 FLR

Re: How to deactive HP Shared Memory on HP DL380 G9
Hello PrathibaC,
Thanks for your answer.
I do not have Device Level Configuration.
However, I have a 530 FLR, which I think have a Broadcom and not Intel chipset.

Hello,
No as I said, I do not have the menu mentioned in the link you provided.
Actually it's the purpose of this thread, I already seen the link you provided before opening this post.

Re: How to deactive HP Shared Memory on HP DL380 G9
Hello,
For information related to SR-iov, please refer to the below document
https://techlibrary.hpe.com/docs/iss/proliant_uefi/UEFI_TM_030617/s_enable_SR-IOV.html
Does not seem to be related with the shared memory.
These options need to be checked in lab.
Kindly raise a case with HPE, and request for lab replication.
Thanks,
TAM

Re: How to deactive HP Shared Memory on HP DL380 G9
Hello,
Thanks for the answer. I can't create a case as I don't have HP contract for this product.
What I don't understand, is the HP shared memory option isn't available (to disable it).
I'd like to know if it's because of the Broadcom chipset on the 530FLR-SPF+ instead of having a Intel chipset like 560FLR-SPF+ ?
I need to have a 2port 10G card on this server, and I need iommu as it's a virtualization host, with Opnsense VM for routing.

Re: How to deactive HP Shared Memory on HP DL380 G9
I re-tested and didn't find the correct option.
It is because of the Broadcom chipset or the Intel 560FLR would have the same issue ?
