Greetings!
I have HP ProLiant ML310e Gen8 v2 server running with two SSD Hard Drive in RAID 1 on Smart Array B120i SATA RAID Embedded controller; it runs vSphere Esxi 5.5.0 with ssacli intalled.
One of two HDD SDD was faulted so I have changed it with a new one.
In those cases, I would like to know if is there a procedure to enable autorebuild
of the logical volume without human interaction as happen for example on an ML110 Gen9; insteed on the ML310e Gen8 v2 server the system asks for a "Press F1" key to start to rebuild the volume during the reboot process.

Re: How to enable logical volume autorebuild on HP ProLiant ML310e Gen8 v2 server
Hi,
Rebuilding an array requires that you either be in offline ACU or booted into the operating system with the driver installed.
The operating system must be running for the rebuild to occur.

Thank You!

Re: How to enable logical volume autorebuild on HP ProLiant ML310e Gen8 v2 server
Greetings!
Could you please confirm if the ML310e Gen8 v2 server has hot-plug drive or non hot-plug drives installed?
For hot plug drive, we can replace it on the fly and rebuild should start automatically.

Re: How to enable logical volume autorebuild on HP ProLiant ML310e Gen8 v2 server
Greetings!
I confirm you that the ML310e Gen8 v2 server have hot-plug drive.
Anyway in case of offline logical volume rebuild I would like to know if is possible bypass the request key "Press F1" necessary during server boot process (the default option is F2 for no rebuild).
For example on an ML110 Gen9 during the offline logical volume rebuild is not necessary Press F1 key because it's the default choise.
There is a way to make Press F1 key as default option also for ML310e Gen8 v2 server?

Re: How to enable logical volume autorebuild on HP ProLiant ML310e Gen8 v2 server
Greetings!
The F1, F2 key options displayed during the POST cannot be changed.
As you mentioned, F2 is for no rebuild then you can press F2 if you want to skip rebuild.
Since the drives are hot plug, rebuilding should start automaticallty once you replace a faulty drive.

Solution
Greetings!
There is no option to make it default. Manual intervention would be required.
