The license activation key is a 5-by-5-character code in the following format. It is printed on your License Entitlement Certificate when you order a physical (paper) license, or it is sent through email

xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

If this is an existing server in your environment and you wish to do something like backing up the license key, then you can get the current key off of the server by using the xml scripting option. Hpqlocfg (remotely accessing iLO) or hponcfg (local through OS) can be used with the "Get_All_Licenses.xml" script.
