How to use SPP Gen 12?
Until Gen 11 it was a no-brainer to use a maintenance window and boot the image via iLO, let it run (to have more information, I always used interactive mode) and be happy.
Now that someone, for an reason I can't even guess, decided that Gen 12 isn't bootable anymore and your documentations are all outdated (means: Not including Gen 12): How to use that stuff now?
As the majority of the servers, ours aren't running an OS with window manager and a browser, so SUM under OS is not an option.
I found out that I could add a node remotly via iLO, but I'm stuck at the point, that it demands a baseline and I have zero clue, nor did I find any documentation, how to get one for it.
It offers a recovery iLO baseline but says it can't use those type.
Seems most people don't have Gen 12 in production yet and can't tell. I assume I have to open a ticket.
This is extremely unsatisfying, not only for me.

Re: How to use SPP Gen 12?
Hi @cgiesers ,
No bootable SUM on Gen12, you can use the iLO Amplifier Pack for the best results. SUM works for Gen12 but only in OS mode (not feasible for you), or as a remote node if you provide a baseline, but may not support a full platform update.
For manual/small scale: Use the iLO web GUI for individual firmware files.

Re: How to use SPP Gen 12?
I know that Gen12 is lacking bootable SUM, which is a huge downgrade.
I tried to look for the iLO Amplifier Pack and
Leads to:
https://myenterpriselicense.hpe.com/cwp-ui/product-details/Z7550-96934/2.12/sw_free
Which says: "Product not found"
It's ALL broken. Theres pretty much nothing working right now. SPP Gen 12 is a complete cluster**bleep**.
Also:
if you provide a baseline,
I asked how to get one, I saw that I have to provide one, but never found out how I can create one.

Re: How to use SPP Gen 12?
iLO Amplifier has been outdated for over a year.
Every Gen12 Server is now sold with a COM License.
So add the Server to COM and use the SPP Update there.
I have made Step-by-Step instructions with a lot of Screenshots here: HPE ProLiant Server ESXi Setup – Complete Guide
And also SPP Update with COM here: HPE SPP Update with COM and ESX
