HP DL380 G4 Boot problem
Guys
I unpacked a new DL380 this morning and it boots up fine with the array controller and memory. If I boot with the SmartStart CD it loads the CD with all the dots and then just reboot. I have tried another CD and I tried the Firmware CD. No luck its just go into a loop. The firmware is one lvl down and the array controller is on the lastest. I have replaced the system board but still no luck.
Any suggestions
I was thinking of the following
- Proc
- Proc power module
- backplane board where drives plug into
Thank
Andre

Re: HP DL380 G4 Boot problem
Hi,
is there any led status on the server at the time of reboot.
Can you boot the server with the aatched offline iml dos reader and check is there any H/W errors on the server.

Re: HP DL380 G4 Boot problem
Hi
If I take the lid off and boot the server all the green light that is marked is green. No failed parts (fans, drives, proc) I have cleared the cmos and changed the CD rom drive.
The server boots up fine it just do not want to load the Smartstart CD 7.40 and the firmware cd 7.40. Even if I boot with Windows 2003 it loads all the drivers and as it say starting windows it blue screens (think Bad_pool_)
