HP DL380 G6 Server
Hi I am facing a problem with the Server. I have connected the Server to 3000 VA smart UPS and configured to shutdown when the power failure occurs and also restart the server when power is restored. But when the power is restored Server is powering on but HDD lights are not flashing or indicating anything and server instantly restarts 5 or 6 times and then it boots normally. This is happening every time when the power failure occurs and restored. Please help me what could be the reason for this.

Re: HP DL380 G6 Server
Hi Sridhar,
Check the IML report and event logs for any specific error reporting..
Could be sometime due to static charge or some communication issue with Hdd backplane server does not recoginise the harddrives.
you may try few steps to further isolate:
Power drain the server (power off the server, disconnect all the cables including power and network, unplug all the hdd and other external devices) leave it for few second and reconnect everything and switch on the server.
update the system bios
check your UPS software whether any power delay settings that has been configured.
if still does not fix the issue
Then you may have to reseat the harddrive backplane
Clear the NVram from h/w switch and observe.
hope this helps,
thanks
Aftab
