HP DL380p Gen8 and jumbo frames with 554FLR
Trying to run the HP customized version of vSphere 5 update 1 on a DL380p and when configuring the hardware assisted iSCSI in the emulex software for the 554FLR-SFP+ LOM module, I am unable to get any the MTU size above 8328. When checking the manuals I should be able to reach 9000 but I am not allowed to raise the number any higher. For testing I've also run the SPP2012.06B which did find some updates but nothing that would allow the larger MTU size. Any ideas?

Re: HP DL380p Gen8 and jumbo frames with 554FLR
Hi,
Cant say exactly why but according to Emulex specs for this card:
http://www.emulex.com/artifacts/538f241d-f8d0-4a27-920c-0efbad4d0745/elx_ds_all_554FLR_hp.pdf
http://www.emulex.com/products/10gbe-fcoe-cnas/hp-certified/554flr/specifications/print.html
Jumbo frames up to 9000 bytes (8000 bytes for ports using FCoE)
Here is a similar issue discussed for another type of NIC.
Check with VMware about compatibility here.
Thank You!
