HP DL580 G7, Fans spinning to 100% with a new hard drive installed
I recently got a second hand DL580 from ebay, I have since installed a new Seagate firecuda 2tb hard drive. I was aware of the "unsupported drive" issue with the fans spinning to 100% however with a small ssd i fitted it has not had the issue, with the new 2tb drive it does.
I am wondering if anyone knows of a solution to getting around the issue with out shelling out close to £500 for a hp drive. I am just using the server as more of a desktop computer and I really cant afford to get one of the "supported drives"
The ilo logs show no issues and the drives are shown as having no issues with them but the fans just crank up to 100% regardless
