HP G6 disk luns issue

Hi,

Coming up with an error on a DL380 G6.

Currently trying to reconfigure the disk luns to raid 1+0 but it wont allow *for reasons unknown*.

It is giving me an availabilty of just raid 0 & raid 5.

This error message is appearing;

Error: The specified device does not have any logical drives.

Error: "raid=1+0" is not valid option for array A

HP_BUILD_LUNS: Error creating logical drives

Thanks,

Michael

Re: HP G6 disk luns issue

Hi,

The error message comes up for various reasons, some are listed below:

The RAID controller does not support the specified configuration.

The firmware on the RAID controller and hard drives do not match.

There is no BBWC configured on the RAID controller.

The old RAID information on the drives are not erased.

What you could do is:

Update the firmware for controller and hard drives.

Use HP SmartStart CD to boot and then use ERASE utility to delete the configuration.  (This utility deletes all configuration and DATA on the hard drives).  If you have data please backup.

Use HP SmartStart CD to boot and reconfigure array.

Thank You!
